Mecca- Pismo Beach

My friend Julie left after we had been at Avila and then my sil Julie came with the cousins and we stayed in Pismo that night.  The next morning we headed back up to San Luis Obispo to go to the Children's Museum there which was WAY fun!

Watch out- Garett is driving!
And then we went to Pismo and met Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Jared, Aunt Emilie, Maddie, and Lucy.

Good times!  And we didn't even get sunburned.  Garett had a little episode on the way back to the car where I almost decided to leave him to the sharks, but we made it to the car and back on the road to Grandma and Grandpa's house.  It was a very fun trip to the coast.

Mecca- Avila Beach

After a nice night's rest and morning breakfast we headed over to Avila Beach.  Which- THANKGOODNESS- didn't allow dogs.

My beach bum ;)

Garett getting buried

Not too happy about sand in his face though

My crazy friend!  And someone who couldn't be 2 seconds without holding onto mom

Everyone loved the pier- hahaha not really.
It was a little windy and chilly (I'll take that over 107 anyday) and the kids pretty much hated the pier but other than that it was sooooooooooooooooo nice to spend some time with my friend!  One of these days we'll get away without the kids and cause some real trouble!!!

Mecca- Shell Beach

It was really hot in Fresno.  Like REALLY hot.  My poor delicate body just couldn't handle it.  I was melting into a little puddle of red-headed perfection.  So we took a trip to the beach to cool things off.

The first day I went to San Luis Obispo with my bff Julie.  When we got there we went to the beach thinking it would be fun.  So we headed to Shell beach.

I love popping seaweed
Doesn't everyone look like they are all happy and having the time of their life?  And then you start hearing dark music and..... enter DOGS and THE TIDE COMING IN and all chaos breaks out and I lose it a bit and start yelling and then we leave.  That was exhausting.  Sorry Julie.

I must be holding his hand at ALL TIMES when he sees dogs.

Better move back, the waves are coming!

Scary water!

And now I am sad.  And yes I have 2 shirts on.
We went to eat dinner which seemed to help.  Sunset dinner on the beach = nice.  And everyone is smiles again.

Mecca- Shaver Lake

The really nice thing about CA is that it has a lot of different types of places to go.  You like the beach?  You can go to the beach.  You like the mountains?  You can go to the mountains.  There's desert, lakes, pretty much any type of place you want all in one state.

We decided to beat the heat and go up to Shaver Lake in the mountains with our cousins one day.  It still was pretty hot and there wasn't much shade, okay any shade, but the icy cold lake made up for that!  Poor Ryan was surrounded by people who brought their dogs which caused some panic and not enough patience from mom, but we survived.  (I cannot tell how much I hate dogs right now and seriously everyone owns one)

Mecca- Zoo

Well, now I am out of order.  Rats.  We went to the zoo after the cousin's sleepover so really this post should be after "Family Fun".  Oh well.  Wait, I can fix it...

Watching the elephants

Maddie loved pushing lazy bones Garett with Lily's help

King Coby says faster!
Cousins!

When kids take pictures this is what you get.  Along with pictures of legs.

And of course since it's always so hot we had to enjoy the pool.
