We decided last minute to go to DC for Christmas to spend time with our wonderful family. We left Christmas Eve (yes I said Christmas Eve) and surprisingly enough there were only 18 passengers on our flight! It was absolutely perfect! Garett was able to squirm around on the plane and the flight attendant basically just sat by us to chat the whole time. I have to say, ever since 9/11 the airlines and airports are absolutely impossible and as anti-family friendly as you can get, but luckily the pilots and crew aren't (mostly). Our boys have been pretty lucky to actually get to go into the cockpit and get wings etc. because I don't think that's very common anymore. But I digress. We made it to DC in great time. As a family (Grandma, Uncles, and us) we went down to the "mall" to the US Botanical Gardens where they had a special train display. It was pretty amazing! Then we went to see the National Tree which was a California tree with decorations of California stuff.
We spent the rest of the day at Grandma's then went to bed to see what the next day would bring...
The boys already celebrated Christmas at our house- and luck be had Santa came to Grandma's house too! Their stocking were filled and we got to open presents from each other. Then we went to church to hear the musically talented ward Grandma is in. Grandma made a huge yummy dinner and had her friend over, we talked to Uncle Joel, Aunt Sam and the cousins on skype, and my cousin Emily came over for games (we finally were able to get togther!).
It was a very nice holiday spent with our family!!
Twas an awesome Christmas with you guys around!
