When we first got to California, we had been up late the night before, woke up at 3am then since it was 4th of July we were up late that night (and Cali is 2 hours behind Iowa). So the first few days we were pretty tired!
We got to see a lot of my family at a family birthday party which was so fun to see everyone! But we wanted to see Neal's side too so we made some fun trips- including our trip to Bakersfield.
On Wednesday morning we went to Neal's Grandpa and Grandma May's house. The boys had been asking when they got to go to the Jungle Grandpa's and pick vegetables so of course we went :)
The boys got some fun new hats and Great-Grandpa took them to see what was ready to pick.
I love the time we are able to spend visiting the kids Great-Granparents! It's so touching to see how much they enjoy visiting and learning.
Next we headed up north to Turlock to visit another Great-Granparent; Great-Grandma Gayle.
We got to swim in her pool and then Grandma just must know what little boys like because she gave them what they declared to be the best snack ever- ice cream, cookies, and lemonade!
Afterwards we sat down and went through Great-Grandma's photo albums so we could see just what Dad looked like when he was young and what grandparents, and uncles looked like too. We're so thankful we got visit Grandma Gayle!
And still after this we headed to Merced to visit some friends- the Mitchells, Travis, Summer and their kids. We miss our friends from California and were so glad we got some time to visit with them! It's hard to visit everyone, but we love it when we get the chance to see the people we love!
We had a fun dinner with the Mitchells and the boys had a blast playing with some new friends. It's always nice when your kids get along with your friends kids! It's like little generations of Travis and Neals shooting birds from the school bus ;)
Whew! It was a long day, but the time was well spent!
